My old time practitioner, Cassandra asked me to log on again though initially I was a bit hesitated to do so, hope that you won’t be offended that I’m reading and giving feedback, ;)If I were you, i’ll get confused and uncertain about the whole situation too. “Hell, what’s going on?”, “The founder must be the conman!”, I get tonnes of these critics from all over the establishment. People out there seemed to know me quite well though none had really meet me or talk to me. My apology that I’m not a high profile person, hence, I always prefer to work from home instead of under the limelight. I can understand how sad could our practitioners feel if this is true and I also can understand that how severe could the damage done to the business if I still only believe in keeping silence. Pardon me for not able to reveal earlier what’s the exact situation as I’m a person wouldn’t like to make presumption and jump to conclusion. I believe in my very personal “5 ways to see the truth”- I SEE, I WATCH,I OBSERVE, I ANALYSE, THEN CONCLUDE. No one can ruin this happyland but our very own people. However, I’ll still bear with this and keep myself calm ( thanks to yoga practice that improve my EQ compared with years ago ) till next week, the rumours can kill but the truth will always prevail. Let it go TJ. Be truthful to yourself and to the people whose lives are affected by you. I will definitely be the one to stand up to face the consequences if I had done something wrong with irrepairable damage, but if because of rumours and conspiracy by “some others” ( sorry I still can’t mention name as the case is in legal advisor’s hand ), i’ll here to defend this happyland and to protect the best benefits of the members. YZ had created more than 300 job oppotunities since 3 years ago and never delay anyone’s pay ( till the rumours started on April 2008). I believe that you are “the man of yoga” ( Yoga Man!), a man should always know the importance of “responsibility”. I have always been truthful to the staff and others, at this moment, I can only tell you that due to internal fraud plus the rumours spread by “some others”, we did delay the pay to the staff but it was being professionally communicated to all through the face-to-face meeting and proper memo, I don’t run away from the challenge as I believe in believe. I have no doubt about my conscious and my intention, hence, I do have enough 8 hours rest daily. It’s the Green Yoga moment, let’s turn over a new leaf and see what we can do and what we will do for the yoga practitioners. If I came with a bad intention, I must be holidaying in Bora-Bora Island or Mauritius now. I am surprised that you even brought up the subject of company law in your reply. You are less of a yoga practitioner I thought you were much to my dissapointment.

There is a higher law that governs mankind, being honest and truthful is one of the higher laws. It is your duty both as a leader of your people and a human being to reveal the truth so that the people whose lives you have affected can decide what to do next.

Your employees’ livelihood depend on truthful information from you as the leader. The last thing they need is some flowery, “Anthony Robbins” motivation speech aka Green Day. They just want the truth, don’t you get it?

Imagine this scenario, you are the general of an army and you realised that you have ran out of bullets and your army does not know that. What do you do next? If you are driven by pride and ego, you will tell them to charge ahead in the battlefield without telling them the truth and with almost no chance of survival in hope of a miraculous turnaound and feed yourself with glory if it ever comes.

If the glory does not come, you as the General , well, declares “bankrupt” and “get some sleep”. Easy way out while your army dies for you.

On the other hand, if you are a good leader and a compassionate human, you will tell them the truth and let them decide if they want to retreat and or choose to die in the battlefield. The choice is not yours to make.

You are not GOD! You do not have the right to play poker with the livelihood of your employees or for that matter or anybody whom you withheld the truth from, hoping that they will “die” for you.

Every second that you delay the truth and the inevitable is every second of opportunity gone for your employees to start anew.

If you claim to be a responsible leader. You owe your employees the truth and let them make their choices.

No offense taken TJ. The way I measure Karma is by seeing how much happiness or suffering I have caused as a result of my actions. Ask yourself this truthfully……have your choices and decisions caused happiness or suffering to those around you.

And by the way, your employees, teachers, suppliers, contractors, epf, income tax, etc are not “Banks”. They are not here to finance your business nor your personal wishes and gratifications.

Did they ever agree that if they are not paid the money due to them, they will be happy receiving interest? If that is the case you should just print their name cards with the positions stated as “Yoga Teacher cum Personal Loan Officer” or “Manager cum Private ATM”

Why didnt you just borrow from the banks in the first place instead of “borrowing” from staff, suppliers, contractors, epf, income tax, etc.

If you tell me that Yoga Zone is a young company that do not have enough credit to obtain a bank loan then get your company to live within its means and expand when you have the resources to do so.

Employees and vendors are not “financial instruments” to be used by you to build your dreams. They are REAL people with bills to pay and lives to feed!

Say you walk into a restaurant and orders a 5 course dinner. Say that you know very you do not have the money on you to pay for dinner. After the dinner, can you “professionally” tell them that you do not have money to pay? Can you offer to pay them interests higher that the bank FD rates so that you can pay for that dinner at a time that is more convenient for you. They will either call the cops or put you into a nut house.

The difference between responsible leaders and irresponsible ones is this: Responsible leaders always take care of the welfare of their staff and employees first even before their own. Did you for one moment consulted your employees before you assumed that it is ok to take their income tax deductions or their epf deductions or their salaries and recklessly gamble on your business? The truth is, it is a zero sum game for them. If you win, they get back what is due to them. If you lose, they get nothing and is left jobless and penniless.

Well well well! Bravo TJ. You seemed to have garnered some support from someone who I assume is one of your cronies or maybe you wrote it yourself. For those of you out there who do not know who this man is, let me relate this to you. A friend of mine (deceased) had the misfortune of going into a partnership with TJ to open a restaurant in Klang. Things were ok at the start. Then TJ made him sign some blank cheques purportedly for the daily running of the biz. Things started to look bad and my friend suspected that something was amiss. The cheques bounced and this caused their bank accounts to be closed. TJ then channelled to funds to god knows where. To cut the long story short, my friend was involved in an accident and died (strangely and conveniently!!) His widow tried desperately to get in touch with TJ and he avoided her like a plague!! All she wanted was to salvage whatever was left of the biz and maybe sell off the biz. Any decent person would have at least have the decency to have a face-to-face meeting with their partners widow. But no, not TJ. He has cheated many people and will continue to do so. For those of you out there, tell yr friends about this blog so that more people who have been cheated by him will come forward and tell their stories. The true stories not the one that TJ tells. So, dear Fairlady, open your eyes. Don’t be so naive. To Yoga Man and Yoga Gal, i salute both of you for standing up to this animal. Keep up the good work! I have been following thru all these for a couple of days. Staying as a neutral party and observer i like to pose a few points for all to deeply think about:
1. If there is no smoke, there is no fire!
2. Why do u find 10 fingers pointing back at 1 finger?
3. If the founder is the sole owner, leader,decison maker,etc then who contributes to todays’ Yogazone’s ruined reputation despite all the accusations and excuses given by him?
4. Does any other companies practised statutory deductions of employees without submitting to the relevant authorities as mandatorily required unless it is INTENTIONAL! I find it hard to swallow this.
So everyone out there…think about it before you state your comments especially those who claimed themselves to be senior executives of companies!

Is interesting enough i found this very blog commenting about a yoga establishment. I have googled my way through and found out that Yoga Zone is one of the biggest Yoga Center in Malaysia or probably one of the biggest single yoga establishment in Asia. Truely pround of the Malaysian yoga practitioners. Just by basing on that fact, i am delighted that there is such an establishment whom has build such a wonderful yoga community there. Personally i am a yoga practitioner and a businessman, from my business point of view, i found that Mr. TJ, is not a coward. I have concluded this after reading all the comments. If Mr. TJ only means money or business, he would have sell off the entire establishment and having a good life with zero trouble. Why he has to go through all the finger pointing, bad mouthing, blame and allegation or even the court case? From all the comment i have read, i can feel that many of you would like to put Yoga Zone to an end? (correct me if i am wrong). But if you are a yoga practitioner, please do not do so, is a great loss to see such a great establishment to end like that. Suppprt Yoga. Namaste.

Okay…I’ve been following this for the past week. I am a new member at the Weld outlet. Residing around this area I thought why not give it a try. When I joined in April 08, the lessons and instructors were very motivational then one by one started leaving. Excuse given was contract expired. Replacement is yet to be seen though you would have one instructor dropping in here and there. Classes being merged and now being slashed. Then to top it all we are getting teachers that are deemed fit to be teaching kindergarten children. Where are the replacement for the foreign teachers who have left? We are only given foreign teachers once a week at Weld whereas the other outlets are privileged to have them 2 or 3x a week. If the situation is as it is said above I will be writing in for a refund. Better to be safe than sorry. I invested my bonus $ for this package and its not cheap and on top of that the Weld and Plaza Damas outlet charges RM100 more than the other outlets. Reason being towel is provided. But hey each time when we ask for additonal towels especially in the mornings we are not given. So what is the extra RM100 for??

I hope this TJ will start doing damage control and put correct what is wrong before more of us members start pulling out and seeking refund. Obviously from what I have read above it is your own staff who are having problems with you. Why penalised us members for it. Please give us the benefit of the doubt!!

If you’re not getting paid, quit! Yoga Zone is just one of thousands more businesses around the world beginning to deteriorate. Each person has to face their own ability to make money and just take a good hard look at your own skils and why YOUR money isn’t coming in to YOUR account. Yoga and money don’t really mix well. They SHOULDN’T mix well. A “good paying career” as a yoga teacher (as YZ advertised) does not exist in good times or bad. Of course you all deserve to support yourselves, but it may be time to retrain and freshen up your resume. I just did and I’m a yoga teacher.

As outside observers it would be impossible for you to fathom the pain and suffering that most employees and teachers go through in Yoga Zone. Not getting paid is only the tip of the ice berg. There are other deep problems in the company that nobody dares to talk about for fear of being “victimised” by the founder and his cronies.

Many teachers in Yoga Zone have left good corporate careers for the love of yoga. Many more have developed friendships with the members hence they continue to work without pay.
These teachers are not unemployable nor are they incapable of looking for alternate work. But like good artists in the world, some are willing to suffer in the name of passion for their arts. To these people, you have my highest respects.
So take a step back for one moment before you judge the teachers and the employees for their “venomous posters”. Do you really think that they want to break their own rice bowls by making false accusations? Do you really think that they want their next resume to read that their previous employer had closed down?
Each and everyone of them have endured so much lies and deceit.
Some goes to work each day living in fear because they will never know when one of the founder’s cronies will stab their backs to justify their own existence.
The sad fact in the whole situation is that there isn’t another big yoga establishment that can employ these passionate yoga teachers.
Perhaps with the demise of Yoga Zone, there is a window of opportunity for a truly wonderful yoga establishment in Malaysia built on the foundations of what the art really stands for.
A company is very much like the ecosystem. Any imbalances caused by man in the ecosystem will result in natural disasters and calamities. It is nature’s way of fighting back.

Likewise, If a business owner continues to rape and abuse the company with no regards for its well being in the pursuit of selfish gains, it will retaliate just like the ecosystem.

Yoga Man,you really speak out the problems..I’m truly disappointed with the way the cronies treated me but I still worked for Yogazone because of my patient towards yoga and the members who supported me.I grew up together with Yogazone.It used to be well-managed and had a great bonding between members and teachers when it was small.I miss those days..

I left Yogazone full with disappointment but I still have to say thanks to TJ for giving me a chance to worked as a teacher and for bringing up the market for yoga.

I have been observing this blog for several days now and here is my 1st posting of my two cents worth. I’m not a Yoga practitioner and merely an acquaintance of TJ and another YZ teacher. I have met and talked to both of them and simply I have to agree with Yogaman’s comments. After each meeting with TJ, I’ll analyse his character as he seems so ambitious but foolish. For those ppl like fairlady and miracle, pls get your facts right before you start suppoting TJ. I was right in suspecting his ability in his business plans. It was just a matter of time he gets himself in trouble and poof … before he realise it he was already in hot soup. There’s nothing wrong being ambitious but it is wrong to be arrogant and ignorant. This is how I describe TJ. Sometimes when you know you are in trouble, it’s better to be truthful then lying through your nose and puts on a disguise. Your associates will understand if you are truthful to them rather than giving them false hopes. What’s done is done, no point crying over spilt milk but if you are honest enough ppl will forgive and support you instead. But you went on a rampage, firstly deducting yr staffs salary by a huge margin and then lying and conspiring against them. This is certainly your downfall and please stop giving ppl false hopes. There you go again by posting in this blog about the bank loan’s approval. Pls reserve your silence and proof to them when you have the solid cash in your hands. Don’t make the same mistakes again by bragging about your plans and financial assistance. In this situation ppl are fed up with what you have to say. They just want some positive action instead.

i’m one of YZ Penang member, where as usual they promised us to refund the money. penang yogaclub is closed down almost 10 months ago only false promises. now the staff themselves telling winding-up. infact the lady Phylis who is close to TJ was promised to change of SPA and taken full money . now almost 10 months no money is been refunded and all time false peomises and all good teachers, every time whoever come to Penang had left. we thought this should be a lesson for KL students not to believe in false hopes. as YZ was in good condition for past 10 months itself they haven’t paid us money.

Hi there,the yogazone is the best best group in Malaysia and try to open the outlet for whole Malaysia. Just want to let people know what is yoga and what is yogazone group even try to let the whole world know the yoga energy from yogazone,but at the same time only can see how dark in front of the road.A little mistake that they use AK-47 shoot you till you can sleep inside the coffin but is not finish they use again the super bowl shoot your back with the sharp arrow still not enough and then take many needle inject inside your heart let your blood all come out till go Poliklinik show the yogazone medicine card then the doctor there dont accept our medicine card.The reason is yogazone didnt pay money.WHAT??Open outlet for whole Malaysia no money to pay you small clinic now the doctor rejected the yogazone medicine card no money to pay the clicnic??The higher professional management just only accept the mc from the clinic there.If feel sick where find clinic and if take mc,professional management dont want to accept and then straight away go hell find hell boy help to settle this case.All here i know i am the weakest in this comment and talk blah only.Shout your mouth and know your role yogazone just simple cause just got two words for yea”SUCK IT”!

去年到如今，你旗下不断地有职员在离职。普通的就别说，那些TJ你所谓的支高薪但没贡献的高层，也已在你的威逼利诱之下纷纷另谋高就；既然你已解雇了许多那些超高薪的高层，理应来说TJ你公司的支出该会更为松动！？但，为何你仍然拖薪？那些钱，又去了哪儿呢？

Dear YogaMan, I really salute you and thanks for telling us the truth. A lot of the YZ/YC members found weird lately when classes being cancelled and some teachers were resigned at the same time without notice. Unfortunately no one dare to tell us what is happening. As the members, we have the right to know the truth as we are the customers paying our hard earn monies in far advance, some even for lifetime membership. Found that the management is irresponsible by pushig away our queries. Keep us in the dark… As a result, rumours flying all over the places. Everyone just guessing and just know that YZ facing financial problem. Without knowing that it is more serious than what we thought.

TJ, you are so lucky of having such a bunch of good teachers. I really respect them for their passionate in yoga. Otherwise, they won’t continue teaching without salaries for months. Pity to these teachers and employees that trust you so much but in return betrayed by their leader or mentor. By reading all the comments from this blog, I believe they are willing to support you if you are sincere and honest to them but not the EMPTY PROMISES. They are kind enough keep on giving you plenty of time to solve the problem but how to survive by paying off their living expenses without pays for months. Hope you are considerate to put yourself into their shoes as well.

Instead of spendig the monies for the Green Yoga campaign, why not use it to pay off the teachers and employees first as EMPLOYEES ARE ALWAYS THE MAIN RESOURCES in a company. This is a key in business…

As a YC member, I don’t hope to see the closure of YZ group as I really like the concept of time flexibity of classes and the teachers there. Unfortunately the light of my hope getting dimmer as situation getting worse. The cleanners also on strike already. Who is going to clean the studio, mats, bathrooms and washrooms… I’m now feel reluctant to go to the outlet as sad to see the environment there.

I love yoga because of YogaZone and sad to see this happening today.

Ah Yei, I don’t think any yoga practitioners will laugh regardless which fitness centre they join for yoga practice. It really sad to see this happened in our country, like what Katrina said “bad reputation in international arena.are they going to celebrate yoga conference again…”

Sorry to give feedback late as I was busy arranging the salary for staff yesterday, I just refinance the vehicles and this surely can help a bit, So glad that my parents actually passed me the grant of our old house in segambut for refinancing purpose also, I did ask mom don’t she worry about the current situation? She just told me that she has faith in me. hmmmm…be frank, the current situation actually brought me and my parents mush closer. I always, and will never change, to believe in conscious and intention. I know it’s inappropriate if I challenge with a “curse and swear”. TJ, I’ve been reading this blog for the past few days but I kept silent cause I don’t think this is the right channel for me to voice out. Here is all about your yoga business and have nothing to do with me.

But when I looked at your comment today, I don’t think my late husband will allow me to keep silent anymore. Please don’t relate my late husband as your friend and me as your ex-classmate. Frankly, I wish I never know you as a person.

Up till now, the pain of my loss is still deep inside my heart. That is why I’m hesitated to write and refresh my memories. But I shall say “Thank You” to your irresponsibly…

Why? Just because of your irresponsibly, I have to stand up and face all the suppliers, contractors, staffs and landlord at the very next day after my late husband funeral. All these problems actually diverted the pain of my loss and make me to be a stronger person now.

And during that time, where were you? I called you, sms you and even asked the company secretary to call for director meeting. You didn’t turn up and you did nothing.

If my late husband and I were the one in fault as what you said, then I should be the one hiding and avoiding all the problems and not YOU.

I don’t think I shall say much here cause I still think it’s not the right channel to help me solve the problems I’m facing now. If you think you are a responsible person, call me and settle all the problems together.

BTW, my late husband passed away on 21 Dec not 22 Dec. But you don’t have to remember cause we don’t need you to remember.

No point arguing and wasting time on this matter. If TJ wants to pay, he will think of ways and means to pay staff.

Practitioner have no right to condemn teachers and staff as you are not in loop, you do not know what’s happen. You would not feel the pinch as the needle is not poking into you!! Yoga teachers and staff are also human, need to eat, feed family and have own comitments. No one wants to bad mouth the company which you work for. What the teachers and staff trying to do is to warn people not to fall into trap just like when you see pothole on the road, you will avoid and tell yuor friends to be carefull.

Teachers and staff, no point waasting time, let go and move on with your life…those who sin will sure get teh KARMA…….
